Sherry, Janicke and Andrea raced the Frontier Adventure Challenge in Huntsville. It was an "interesting" race.
We started on bike from Deerhurst Resort. The gravel roads and some of the trails were quite fun. Others were a bit challenging. From the bike, we transitioned to a trek. This was a bush whack but we were perfect with the navigation (about 2 km through the woods). We then had to cross a river and then run a gravel road for about 5-6 km.
The next TA we moved on to canoeing. This is always interesting with 3 people in a boat. And I was the middle person. I got really cold and was shivering quite uncontrollably for a while. We had to portage around 4 rapids, but also ran many other fun rapids. I just wish it were warmer. After the paddle, we got back on our bikes. I left the TA with a silver emergency blanket wrapped around my upper body because I was still so cold. It was mainly trail and a bit of road back to Deerhurst. We crossed the finish line in just under 9 hours.
-2nd out of 8 all female teams
